OUR STORY

Lighthouse Christian Church began as a small Bible study in Amparo, Caloocan City, led by Pastor Benigno (Ben) Sandoval together with his family and a small group of family friends. As they continued to study the Word of God and grow together in faith, these gatherings eventually led to the first worship service of Lighthouse Christian Church in June 2008, held in the home of one of its members.

As our church continued to study the Scriptures, our understanding of biblical worship and sound doctrine also developed. Through Pastor Ben’s convictions concerning biblical worship and the regulative principle, God graciously led us toward greater faithfulness to His Word.

Through the years and through the faithful giving of our congregation, LCC was able to support seminary students. Among the first fruits of this support was Pastor Mateomar Pajarillo, who became an Associate Pastor of our church in 2016. His ministry marked an important stage in our continuing journey toward becoming a confessionally Reformed church.

As we continued to study the Scriptures and the doctrines of the Reformation, we grew in our understanding of Reformed theology, biblical worship, church government, and the ordinary means of grace. What began as a desire for sound doctrine gradually developed into a fuller commitment to the historic Reformed faith as summarized in the Three Forms of Unity.

In February 2022, our elders and deacons were officially installed, reflecting our commitment to the biblical offices Christ instituted for the shepherding and care of His church. Later that year, Lighthouse Christian Church became a member of the Federation of Reformed Churches in the Philippines (FRCP), marking another chapter in our development as a Reformed church.

In June 2023, after successfully sustaining a rigorous ordination examination, Pastor Mateomar Pajarillo was formally ordained by the Consistory of Lighthouse Christian Church as Minister of the Word and Sacraments. This was a significant milestone in the life of our congregation and in our continuing commitment to faithful, biblical, and confessionally Reformed ministry.

Since then, we have established ourselves in our present location and have continued to gather believers from Caloocan City and neighboring communities. We have baptized covenant children and welcomed new members through their public professions of faith. Through these ordinary yet significant means, we have seen God continue to build and sustain His church.

Our desire is to remain steadfast in sound doctrine and to faithfully serve the community in which God has placed us. We are committed to the faithful preaching of Scripture, the proper administration of the sacraments, biblical church discipline, and worship according to God’s Word. We seek to preserve and pass on to future generations the biblical doctrines recovered and confessed by the Reformers centuries ago.

We were once dead in our trespasses and sins, but God delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son. Now, we are devoted to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the praise of His glorious grace.
